dorsal thinking

All right, so I have been on several occasions been accused, albeit most lovingly, of having totally bizarre methods of logic.

This is proof that it's not just me. Since I am currently somewhat obsessed with pix of Elijah Wood --- No! Really??? I never noticed, says the flist as one --- and since the latest pix are like these ---

found them, darkelfgirl! *beams*

--- I mentioned to the Aunt that I love these pix so very very much but can't bring myself to do anything with them cos he looks so terribly much like her ex-husband. And she warily agreed, made some remark about Lijah not having the Jewish nose, and I say "Yeah, well, maybe I just link the two because they're both Aquarian and have those intense eyes."

And then she says ...

The Aunt: I don't know, I think he looks like that mad fellow.

Me: What mad fellow?

The Aunt: The fellow with the toothbrush.

Me: *thinks for several moments*

Me: *gets suspicious hint of idea and suitable grin begins to spread across face*

Me: What? Christian Bale? In The Machinist?

The Aunt: Yeah, that one.

Me: *kills self laughing*

And no, my Aunt did not know or remember that Christian Bale is in fact an Aquarian, a couple of days after Lij and about nine days after my ex-Uncle. *snort*

Just now, typed almost as she's saying it ...

Me: What, you've seen it more than once? How many times have you seen it?

The Aunt: Oh many times. It just happens to be on, like that Se7en, they're always on and I just watch them out of pure disgust ... I remember I turned it on and there he is on the floor, with his elbows out like a bloody chicken with the damned toothbrush and then he goes and puts that thing on the fridge and I thought "what the hell is this bloody basket case?" and I was so fascinated and didn't know what was going on. Cos it's very hard to follow if you don't watch it from the beginning and isn't there something about a hand ---

Me: *fascinated* Yeah ...

The Aunt: Right, I missed that!

Me: *choked laugh* But you like it?

The Aunt: Well, it was very well done, the story and all but it's definitely not something I'll be watching again. I certainly won't be hunting out any Christian Bale movies and saying he's a good actor.

Me: *issues filthy death glare of pain and suffering and Death*

The Aunt: Dri, he's demented, he's very disturbed. I mean, even to act that, to make himself look like that.

Me: Mmm hmm. That's why we love him.

And thass why I love her. She's totally mad in that intuitive genius way.

Such a good album, this. Perfect mellow weekend music.
