Okay, so who the fuck are the Presets and how dare they be at Spectrum on my birthday??

Dammit.

*flops down, hair falls over glasses, lip protrudes*

My birthday's on a Friday this year. This is a bloody awesome thing. It means I can go OUT on my birthday and have a much much greater chance of guilting people into coming out with me. I can get sloshed on my birthday, I could even see a band on my birthday.

So who the fuck are the Presets and why are they apparently the only band performing in Sydney on my birthday? I hate them already! Why couldn't they be J-Boy or Dolly Rocker or Dan Kelly or the Morning After guys or even the damned Lovetones??? Is that TOO much to ask, that one of my many favourite bands perform somewhere in Sydney on my twenty-fifth birthday?? Quarter of a century, people! I'll be goddamned unemployed on my twenty-fifth birthday, about to start a masters degree, living on the dole in a hundred and fifty year old house with one dollar in savings! *has utterly melodramatic fit*

In other news, Mellow Drunk will be at Spectrum on the 10 of February apparently. I think I shall go just to see if Leigh Gregory is as vaguely hot as he sounds. No tix info yet.

Grrraaaahhhh. Gigs before my birthday and after my birthday but noooooooo, nothing ON my birthday despite the fact that it's February, summer, Sydney, post BDO and pre-Good Vibrations. Mraaah. *stabs hand*

I hate it when I don't have my way. It's highly offensive.

I'm rediscovering discovering a whole new appreciation for Kate Bush. Mainly because after the mini-Kylie videothon on Rage the other night, they did a little Kate Bush videothon and played an interview and god, she's fascinating.

She was so brave and weird with everything from dark sexual romantic obscure intellectual lyrics to layered strange music to video concept and choreography. It really only struck me this afternoon, walking to the shops with The Sensual World on my discman, that ... she's an artist, man. In that recognisable itching egomaniac idiosyncratic bizarre living in a world of her own creation way. Love it, love it! And the new album might be coming out soon. *wriggles excitedly*

I should make icons. Yep. eta: *beams*

Oh, and Ari, you'll be glad to know exactly what I'll be spending the Red Eye voucher on. I've decided. The new Brian Jonestown Massacre album, We Are The Radio, out Jan 25. Eeee.

j-boy, kt, bjm, gigs, kylie
