So it's been awhile since I last updated. . .I'm sure you have all been checking 50X a day for my updates and alas you have been disappointed for nearly 2 weeks. BUT AHOY I AM FINALLY UPDATING (this is mostly because I do not want to work, and I mean DO NOT WANT TO WORK)

My parents were gone for nearly a week and a half. I didn't update during that period mostly because I'm sure some of you are stalkers/burglers/rapists and I didn't want any of you breaking into the house. Actually I just didn't have anything entertaining to say so I just sat around watching movies on the Family Channel and Vh1. I also forced Kerry into being my entertainer which she was very nice about even though I'm sure she had better things to do then babysit me.

At work we were getting ready for the conference so I came home every night wanting to crash. Only now my lack of sleep from the conference is hitting me. This may be why I do not want to work . . .hehehhoohohhihihhehehe. My giftboxes from Dan the Sausageman were great hits so it's my high point of the summer :)

But I'll give you a run down of my week at the conference.

On Wednesday I woke up with a sty and my eye was nearly swollen shut. It was quite gross and painful but I was finally able to drive downtown and check myself into the Sheraton (and got into a slight disagreement with their valet people. . . we were required to valet park our cars and when I got there no one would help me so because I thought I was in the wrong place I drove around six blocks again and entered their valet parking area a different way. . .which was apparently the wrong way but at least I got it parked that time! ). So I ran over to the convention center and we spent the day registering exhibitors and watching the conference come to life. It was really cool to watch the convention center go from a cement floor to a room housing over 400 exhibitor booths and 10k registrants. On Wednesday evening we had to attend a reception for our President (President of the WSDA), it was an open bar which Melissa (my co-worker, I know I originally said Michelle but Michelle is seven months pregnant so trust me I wasn't enjoying an open bar with a pregnant woman) and I abused quite badly. So by the time we left to our Board dinner we were feeling no pain. . .no pain at all (and thanks to Kerry who let me borrow her dress for this event). Dinner was soooo good, I had seabass and way too much wine. On the way back to my room I got off at the wrong floor and tried to break into someone else's room . . .oopsy wrong floor :)! So I finally went to bed (after taking a trip down to the bar and failing to bring any money or ID <--definately time for bed).

On Thursday I was at the convention center by 6:30am. We registered like 800 people for the conference and I watched my co-workers be lame nutjobs (not all of them just a few who shall remain nameless at this time). I didn't get to have breakfast which as we all know in our circle that lack of food creates angry little monkeys. . .and I was a very angry monkey. At 5 we were dismissed to get ready for our gala with Jack Jones (don't worry I didn't know who Jack Jones was either, but if you hear the Old Navy theme song/Love Boat theme Jack Jones sang both those songs. For those of you who haven't seen me in a dress since prom or before you missed your chance, sorry there will be no dress wearing until my wedding day. Okay this isn't true but I looked really good and I really loved my dress. This gala thing cost 125 bucks per ticket and I got my parents in for free on a fluke. My mother had a great time, I think my father was pained by the experience but they got doted on by their waiter so they were happy.

Friday morning I had to get up at be at the convention center by 6:15. Pain pain pain. But it was still a lot of fun. I also big time snapped at a co-worker during the conference which I had been trying very hard not to do. . .oh well did it anyways. I had to explain something to her 60 damned times and she wouldn't listen then she snapped at me and well I got a tad mad. Later she came up to me and thanked me for my help. . .yeah whatever. I didn't get home till after 6 that night and I don't remember the majority of Friday night but the convention was a success.

After I got home we watched Wet Hot American Summer, no it's not porn. It's this Sundance Film ( = strange) about summer camp in the 80's. I'm not going to bother explaining the actual plot mostly because there wasn't a plot. . .It was kind of like watching someone have a bad withdrawl from prozac. I was amused . . .figures doesn it?

I ran into Liz Fehrenbach's mother at the convention. Liz is now going to Lewis and Clark down in Oregon. . .thankfully she isn't going to Evergreen State because then I would have to deny knowledge of her existance. "hello my school doesn't have grades and we ask murderers to speak at our graduation ceremonies"

30 minutes until I can leave and get on the bus of joy. It is like 95F outside and the Metro doesn't have airconditioning. However if you're from Redmond those buses have aircon. . .but apparently if you're from Burien you're SOL.

Jenn is back from her river trip in Idaho. Jenn I'm sure you're very tan and lean and looking great. I wish I could say the same but I think I just consumed 5000 calories today at work by eatting what is left of our gift baskets from various hotels.

Oooh and yesterday (monday) I got flowers from our executive director. Not some shabby lame flower arrangement, but an arrangement that probably costs more than I make a day. It's really goregous and I'm very glad I didn't have to take it on the bus. . .

Okay enough of this lame rambling. 4 weeks till school starts. . .4 weeks till the horror of Advertising 480 begins. . .4 weeks until I must buy books. . .4 weeks until I start living off Smart Ones meals and chicken nuggets. . .4 weeks until I begin my hatred of Adelphia again. . .4 weeks
