Jila and I have been thinking, and have been talking with some people about the possibility of having a get-together, very informal, to talk about Quest processes. This isn't board mandated, or suggested, but as jila and I were talking, we realized that a) our two opinions weren't enough to make a decision on behalf of the whole community, and b)maybe the board isn't big enough to make that kind of decision either.
Given that some people might not want to drag themselves down to Wesleyan to sit in a room for four hours (I don't understand why, I love it), they might be more approachable about something more like a potluck, have people bring food and talk. The hope would be to get some good forward momentum going on something, hopefully come up with a process that burns fewer people.
Some things we're considering:
When should it be held (sooner is always preferable over later, and there is a Board Meeting on May 18th, so we've got time)?
Where should it be held (it's obviously got to be someplace large enough for a group of us, and perhaps less reliant on Wesleyan's master schedule, or on a place with waitstaff)?
To what extent should it be structured, if at all(a six-hour bitchfest is all well and good, but if it doesn't get us anywhere...)?
Kids?
Food?
(Hopefully jila, and a few others, will post this as well, because while many questies are not on the forums, far fewer are not on lj).
