Time for an Update
So school started for me on Monday, I was enrolled for 18 hours and really stoked (Laguna Lingo) about taking my classes. Well I don't know exactly when it was that I began to have major doubts about taking French, Oh yeah it was when I read (while assisting Sean) that I would have to take French 1, 2, 3, AND 4 to receive the credit needed for my degree. So I thought wait, this sucks, and I walked my ass over to the advising center and spoke to an advisor. Well in a matter of moments this adviser totally changed my career plans. I mentioned the idea of Social Work as a minor or Psych as a minor and Social Work as major. Well I come to find out that Social Work is similar to a nursing program, where you have to apply and when you graduate you not only have a Bachelor's Degree but are a licensed social worker. I also found out the Social Workers are in much higher demand than people with a Bachelor's in Psych. So basically all signs pointed to Social Work. Well I got home and I meticulously reviewed the degree plan and then something very disappointing! :( I would have to stay in school another full year to complete the degree. So my graduation date would be Spring 2008, not 2007. Well I was frantic because I really wanted to graduate in 4 years, but well I have been told over and over that I am young and time is not that big of an issue for me. So today I traveled down to the Social Work advisor, I officially changed my major and found out that I am pretty ahead of the game, a lot of my Psych courses counted towards my Social Work electives! :) Yay! I am happy with my choice, it had been gnawing at me all week... Ok this may be a long entry sorry, it's just today so many funny random things happened. Hmm well I got to school and got a really good parking, I went to my counseling session where some really interesting info spilled out of my mouth and I realized a lot about my fears, of life, I guess I made a break in my therapy session YAY! Then I walked to the Union and did my make-up in the bathroom, I have never done that before it felt weird, I took out cash of the ATM to pay for a book I was buying from this random guy. Then I walked to the library and on my way I saw a live journal celebrity in person! LoL he is better looking person than in his stupid conceited pictures, and he was with the guy that never closes his mouth! Their highlights are like blinding that is how I recognized them. So I bought my book from this guy and it was super heavy, so I decided to go drop it off at my car before my next class. So I get on the Metro which happened to be empty. We get to my stop and I decide to ask the driver to wait for me while I put the book in my car, so he was super nice and says yes, so yay I run put the heavy shit in my car and run back. Then I go for the longest Metro ride ever! It beat walking in this new humid heat!! So I literally went around in the circle. Then idiot me I forgot my class had changed locations, and ended up almost being late. After class I went to take some career tests that my counselor had been hounding me to do. They ended up being quite fun but I am just scared that now that I changed my major the stupid tests will show that I should really be something else, like a stockbroker or something!! Oh Well, I came home after that, I ate quickly then it was back to UTEP to get advised for Social Work. I had to watch this hokey video then I got advised, officially changed my major then went back to my Liberal Arts Adviser to pick up a few more classes to replace the ones I had to drop. Right now I am at 12 hours but after Monday I will probably pick up a Spanish class. Wish me luck, I have a placement test on Monday, if I do well I may just have to take one course in Spanish as opposed to 4 in French! Saves money and time, I will learn French later when I am wealthy and planning on visiting my friend Ernesto Serrot the designer in Paris. :) Ok this was long, But hey this is what journals are all about no? OMG!! WAIT! I almost forgot!! After my whole advising thing me and Lorena went to the gym. It was your typical sweat session until, this BIG girl fell off her treadmill!!! OMG it was so Fucking funny!!! Thank GOD I couldn't see Lorena from where I was, because it was bad enough just knowing Lorena had seen it too, it was really making me laugh. I tried to hold it i but I let out a chuckle and I couldn't stop smiling. Ay it was just sooooo funny!! I mean she rolled off, it turns out she supposedly blacked out but I think she just said that so it wouldn't be so embarrassing. I hope I am not sore tomorrow, me and Lorena were on the "vagina" machines, or what regular people call, the abductor and adductor machines (I think, the ones where you open your legs) Ok now I am done, I hope everyone had a good week!!
