I keep finding story notes / writing notes / ??? notes in my notebooks that are in my handwriting but are kind of gibberish. I know for a fact that I was not drunk at the time, and that my mnemonic devices apparently could use some work. zenzaan suggested that I go back to freewriting, but I doubt it'll help me much.

A random sampling:
  • when you feel like pouring down, rough around
  • bulk trash keep hot and when opponents adapt, change attack as much as possible
  • ritual with powder, stop all ceremonies
  • why nickname
  • exploit, but not to destitution, decreptitude, or desperation
  • the enemy never monitors until you use secret tolerances ➤ maximum difficulty.
  • remade new in every moment upon the fallen world
  • the slow cessation of the universe SWITCHBLADE
  • level up the jam need pasta wheels

This is exactly why I avoid writing poetry. And I know for a fact that these are creative writing notes. And some I can kind of work out maybe what they're for but for the most part. No. No freaking idea.

I love and hate reading prose that makes me feel totally inadequate; I don't kid myself about my writing level, but every once in awhile I'd read something that so totally blows me away I feel an urge to burn every word I've ever written. Unfortunately, I think it's probably the case that almost all of us are hacks, in one way or another.

write what you know
