I'm waiting by my phone again, like a high school teenager. Tonight is basically my only night off in an entire week and I'm sitting here hoping my boss calls so I don't have to make curry. Curry, the food of the gods. And sublimely easy considering all I have to do is cut shit and mix in the curry cubes of easy. Yeah. I'm going to declare mental bankruptcy and day now: I can't brain today, I have the dumb.
I was intending to write about the horrible and yet awesome experience of having everyone I knew come in and observe my English class with Kitsune (incidentally, not excluding Yoseda-san, kyouikuchou, parents, kochou-sensei, all the other teachers, you name it!) but though it was horrifyingly scary to see a crowd of about oh, forty people or so crowding outside in the hallway watching the class because they couldn't all fit in the back of the room, it was also - well a bit awesome. Until I looked at the back and saw kyouikuchou, who appeared out of nowhere like a ninja and disappeared just as spontaneously. Maybe I had hallucinated him.
I've begun Taiko with Kawa-san, the dad of the best English student in 中2 grade and the best English student in 中１ grade, one of the two (中１) being one of the three who won the Okinawan Spelling Battle. I don't think he's ever been to the U.S., and doesn't have the polite speaking style that Masato-sensei has (with whom conversations are always interesting, because he speaks in English and I speak in Japanese), but Kawa-san is very thoughtful, if a bit stern-seeming. He treated Kitsune and I to booze last Friday as a celebration for the spelling battle - the other parents were there too - and 中kyoto, whom I love with all my heart, showed up already a bit blitzed. If I didn't know my bosses, I would say that 中kyoto was the sweetest drunk I've ever met, but. Well.
Kitsune came late, and my participation in conversations negatively correlated to her presence. I have such mixed feelings about her, I honestly don't know how to sort them.
On another note, I don't watch SGA, but I totally would for Ronon Dex's hair. Omg.
