Naruto, oh Naruto, why?
Rant
I used to love Naruto as a character, he had tenacity in the face of sheer mediocrity. It took a while but even the other characters start to twig that he did so badly because he was entirely self taught and had no loving family. That in itself actually bothers me a bit... Someone would have adopted the kid or he would have turned into a completely, psychologically fucked-up little boy. Who knows what he should have turned out as...

Manga doesn't hold up to pschoanalysis... yes.

I'm starting to get annoyed though, kid spends so much time racing after Sasuke and crying. He's supposedly pretty kickass but he only ever uses his old moves. He uses them better but they're still old. Even Sakura finally has some stones, tries to emotionally protect him and punches people. She punches hard enough to make a head implode. Sakura is cool.
Tangent.
Sai should still be an enemy. Burgeoning sociopaths like Sai don't go from assholedome to "what is the socially acceptable way to refer to people I interact with?" in a week. At least Sai provided some rivalry and a little dramatic tension. I'm not sure people really care about Sasuke at the moment. Kishimoto sold his soul to the "three day super-save-your-ass technique" cliche so we know Sasuke will either come good or die dramatically but cathartically. If Sai was still being a jerk at least we could have a few good scenes of him trying to kill Naruto in his sleep while the insta-jutsu arc was going!
AND WHEN WILL SOMEONE TWIG THAT HE LOOKS LIKE THE GIANT FACE ON THE HOKAGE MONUMENT! IT IS PRETTY DAMN OBVIOUS AND PEOPLE SHOULD AT LEAST BE WHISPERING ABOUT IT!
I know he's saving that particular piece of information for another day but still... Children wonder who their parents are. Aryan children born in predominantly asian areas would probably twig that if they are an orphan... and this dead blonde guy with blue eyes who has hair like yours is about the only other aryan in the village (ignoring Ino and her parents who are all alive and unrelated) well, you might just be sharing DNA.
