Beep Beep Beep...the chaotic sound of my alarm work me up at 615am and I preceded into my normal get ready for work routine. The Best Buy meeting was pointless, nothing was learned, and in order to keep the sanity of my department I constantly cracked jokes here and there, few coworkers joined in to make the painful experience more bearable. Upon leaving one of the hot operation girls came up to me and asked if I was going to be at Pride and gave me her number to go to her apartment later for a party.
We met at Carrie's house (me, Matt, Crystal, Heather and her girlfriend), where we listened to jazz on the record player and drank champane and peach juice. Yes I know 1030am is a little early for drinking, but after two large glasses, I had a buzz going and I didn't care. We arrived at pride shortly there after and made our way to the alchohol purchase tent. I downed a couple of margaritas and we were ready to walk around. Pride was pretty much what I rememebered it from last year, a bunch of shirtless bears with hairy backs. Curious on a tent that was strictly 18+ with such show demos as "fisting," "bondage," and "flopping" we cruised inside to find some bear showing how to tie up someone with rope. The poor white boy on the table just looked out with a low face, like when a dog looks up with you and cocks it's head. "They beat me please save me," I whispered under my breath during the presentation as my friends laughed and a couple of people turned around to look at us, "young people these days," they probably thought. We crusied up and down and didn't really do a whole lot. None of them wanted to dance, nor check out the latin tent and we found ourselves with another round of adult juice and sitting on a grass incline watching people walk by. This time I had two drinks in my hand and the sun was started to cook my face, making the buzz even worst. I've never been drunk during the daytime. So then Spencer called and said he was at the front gate so I told Carrie and them I would see them later and I went and met Spencer.
Spencer was hungry and hadn't taken a shower yet so we left the festival area and went back to his studio near the Silverfox. He took a showe while I passed out on his bed from exashtion. I woke up and he was ready and cleaning up his apartment so we left for downtown Long Beach. My buzz had been killed by the quick nap. Before entering we went to PF Changs, where he works and got some awesome discounted grub. Then we went into Pride. I was done with drinking so carefully I took off my 21+ wrist band and Spencer put it on his wrist so he could buy some drinks. Spencer knew how to have fun and we went around tent to tent, mostly spending the time at the Hip Hop tent where we danced. I ran into a lot of friends that I know which is cool because some of them I haven't seen in a long time. After dancing for awhile it started to get dark and there were no lights set up so it became very difficult to see if someone was cute or not. So we finally decided to leave around 930. The proposal of a couple of different parties lingered in our minds but I just was not feeling it. My face is red (minus where my sun-glasses had been), I'm super tired from the lack of sleep, and although the buzz was gone I still had alcohol withdrawel from being out in the sun so long. So I had Spencer drive me to my car where I said goodbye and came home.
This weekend has been such a blast. I got the chance to hang out with a lot of different people and do differnt things. The Pride festival part was okay, I would have liked there to be more to do than just look at small booths and dancefloors that are full of shirtless old men or ghetto lesbians that push. But all in all I had a great time and now flee to my pillow in relief of this great tiredness.
