So we thought we should write our own rap portions and that applied to the singing part as well. So we were wondering what the theme will be and came up with the theme of Union. So before completion, we don’t even know what the lyrics of the song is.
Yabu: We split it into parts.
Daiki: And made sure it is within the theme.
Yabu: Each of us thought of our own things, and the result is a union of our worlds.
Daiki: Hikaru is really fast with his lyrics.
Hikaru: I took 3 days.

Yabu: Hikaru, do you treat him like a younger brother?

Keito: But I get the elder brother impression. He is really troublesome at times. He is really kind when we are together.

Hikaru about Chinen
Hikaru: Chinen, huh? Even though he has some ideas on how to perform and such, surprisingly, he also has some very interesting and fun ideas. His mind works really fast. I wonder if the fans actually know about this.
Chinen: Yes, they know about that.
Hikaru: Oh they do?
Hikaru: So something that the fans don’t know about Chinen. Personally, I think that the timing that we get tired are quite similar. For example, we have work all day long, so there’ll be times when we get tired. Like we get tired, then get active again and so on. But when I go like.. “Ah.. I’m tired” then I look at Chinen, similarly Chinen will go “Ah.. my back hurts..” It’s like our body fitness conditions are similar.
Yamada: That’s really unexpected.
Chinen about Yuya
Chinen: What should I say? Well, Yuya is really different from what you see of his image.
Yamada: Originally, he has a cool image, like an O-blood type image, but now he doesn’t have that image anymore.. more like.. baka?

Chinen: In school, Ryosuke, Keito and I always go out for lunch together right? Recently when Yuya was with us, when we reached the restaurant feeling hungry, Yuya went ‘it’s alright’.

Daiki: During the Kira Kira Hikare PV, when there’s a point of the choreography towards the end that requires the members to put a hand on the shoulder of the person next to him, and Takaki is next to me. At that time, he saw clearly Takaki’s boxers. Then Takaki was like.. “Stop it! I told you to stop it already!” That was the first time I’ve seen that side of Takaki. Somehow, it feels feminine.
Daiki: Feels pitiable and frail.
Hikaru: During live performances, there are always repetitive actions. For Come On A My House, during the choreography, we have to make a certain expression and our expressions are normally the same. Every single time, Takaki has a really bright expression.
Yuto: Takaki-kun is always laughing then!
Hikaru: Seeing a who can laugh in such situations, it feels like I have seen a lot of things in my life.

Yuya: Besides what we know about Yuto, he has another side to him that he’s really really fun that I would like everyone to know about.
Hikaru: There’re a lot of examples for a side that only we know about when it comes to Yuto. Things that he does outside TV that we find really interesting.
Yamada: How do we explain this to the fans?
Hikaru: For example, in today’s PV Shooting (Kira Kira Hikare), we played “Daruma san ga Koronda” (A game where 1 player closes his eyes towards the pole, the rest has to try to touch him. When he said it’s mealtime everyone is supposed to run away from him. He is allowed to only move the amount of syllables that is in his name. So for Yuto, it’s 7 syllables: Na Ka Ji Ma Yu U To) When it comes to Yuto and he turns around to catch, he’ll catch the person the furthest away in just 7 steps.
Daiki: It’s scary but really funny. Show this side of yours more often.
Yuto: But this fun side of me, it’ll be best to keep it within JUMP than to show everyone else.
Yuto about Yabu
Yuto: When it comes to both of us, for example during dance choreographies while everyone is dancing, there are parts when we are supposed to be facing backwards and not dance. At times like these, Yabu will cross his arms and glanced at me. Once when I was picking my nose, he’ll just look away.
Yamada: What are you doing?!
Yabu: Yuto is one of the nicest persons. If Hikaru did that, I’ll get angry.
Hikaru: Your timing is bad, Yabu! While we were in a serious conversation, Yabu will make some random noises, and I’ll go ‘not now.’

Yuya: Tell us about the members’ bright/shining side.

Yuya: When we talk about ‘kira kira’ (brightness), there’s Yuto. He has a lot of hobbies right? Camera and others. When he takes pictures of us, he will display a really bright expression.
Yuto: I guess that’s because its something I like to do. For example, Hikaru and his bass. Because we are concentrating, I guess that’s where we are shining.
Hikaru: I guess that happens when we are performing live.

Yabu about Yamada
Yabu: When he gets into the mood, he’s like an elementary school kid.
Daiki: Yea that’s right!
Yabu: How old are you today?
Yuto: What’s with that behaviour!
Daiki: He even acts like a robot.
Yamada: Stop that!

Hikaru: When that happens, our reaction will be like.. *shocked expression*
Hikaru: Once, during a lesson, Yamada was standing at the front. He turned twice (then action of kicking and hand gesture). I was like thinking “Eh what is he doing? Is he a kid?”
Daiki: He will suddenly demonstrate childlike behaviours.
Hikaru: What is with that?
Daiki: At what point of time do you become like that?
Yabu: When do you normally turn on the switch?
Yamada: Er…
Yuto: You do that a lot while dancing. Like during dance choreographies.
Daiki: Can you show it to us now?
Yamada: No way. That’s impossible!
Someone: Do it do it!
Daiki: Even becoming a robot is good.
Yabu: You don’t think about it right?
Yamada: Nope!
Chinen: Just do something like that!
Yamada: It’s impossible to do it now!
Daiki: We just want to introduce this side of you!
Yamada: But the switch is on right now!

Daiki: Here it comes!
Yabu: I seriously think the fans didn’t know to what extent you get.
Daiki: He don’t show it on the stage/during performances.
Yamada: When I’m on the stage, if I could I always try to show a ‘prince-like’ character. It feels like I cannot show my real self. Just imagine during MC, I go *shows behaviour. It’ll be weird right?
Members: Will seem like an idiot (baka).
Yamada: Yeah I’ll look like an idiot right?
Inoo & Yabu: You can just show that.
Yamada: Eh?
Yabu: Just go all out!
Yamada: All out? Should I really go all out?
Yabu: When that time comes, with you being so childish, I’ll just become a lot more mature.
Chinen: You can just show this character now itself.

Yamada about Daiki
Yamada: Besides what you know of him, he has one other strong point of his.
Hikaru: Do the fans know about it?
Yamada: Do the fans know?

*Keito started laughing*
Daiki: Keito knows about it! When it was noticed the first time, Keito, Yamada and Takaki were there.
Yuya: Seriously?
Yamada: One moment, I saw Daiki’s really upset look.
Daiki: I can do it now.
*Daiki tried making the expression behind the blanket, and Yamada is confirming whether it looks right.
*Daiki shows the expression but it isn’t right.
Daiki: So the level is not enough. I’ll do it again!

Daiki: How about my ears? Is it red?
Inoo: Yes.
Yamada: At times like that I really don’t know what I should do.
Yuya: Despite that, it seems like it could be really useful.
Daiki: I can only do it max 3 times a day (jokingly).
Yamada: It’s his ultimate technique.

Daiki about Inoo
Daiki: We just can’t imagine Inoo chan in his private life. I really don’t know. I’m really curious so once I asked him.
Daiki: “Who do you normally play with? What do you enjoy doing?” He answered then that he has a friend called Ryoshi.
Daiki: When he told me that, I was really surprised.
Inoo: I have a lot of different types of friends, but he…
Daiki: He’s quite old right?
Inoo: He’s middle-aged.
Yabu: You are friends with a middle-aged man?
Daiki: It was really surprising.
Yuya: Do you always go out for meals with him?
Inoo: No, I’ve never done that. But I’ve been to karaoke with him. He’s normally working so..
Daiki: He’s really different and his age is older than us as well. And Inoo chan is friends with someone like that.

Yamada: You forgot your Kindaichi character!
Inoo about Keito
Inoo (he started off with a Kindaichi tone): During meetings or when he’s talking, the first thing he’ll say is “There’s this one thing I’m thinking about.” He keeps saying that again and again. How many one things does he have? He does that without fail everytime!
Hikaru: This is really funny, and fans doesn’t even know about it.
Chinen: Everytime before saying something he always does that.
Yamada: Normally people just go straight to the topic right? For example, what do you think about this?
Yuto: You are very kind huh?
Yabu: Because going ‘hey hey hey!’ seems difficult.
Yamada: On this topic, he matured a lot. Once during the Smart live concert, he whispered to my ears, “There’s this one thing I’m thinking about.”
Keito: In the future, I’ll just say ‘I thought of something’.
Everyone: No don’t do that. Just go straight to the point.
Keito: Hai! *raises hand*
Yamada and Daiki: Yes that’s right

Yuto: We covered Sensations song in the album, what do you think about Sensations?
Chinen: I think they are really cheeky. I watched their DVD and they gave a very Hey! Say! JUMP feeling.
(He continued saying how they are pretty much like a junior but not really)

Yabu: What kind of persons do you want listening to your album?
Hikaru: People who don’t know about JUMP, should listen to Jumping Car as it is easier for them to get to know JUMP. This is a new side of JUMP. There are songs that fit the JUMP image, and some don’t. So I really want people to listen to it.
Yabu: The album this time shows a lot of different genres. So I hope this album will cater to different people in various situations and backgrounds.
Daiki: We would like you to find out more about yourself by listening to the album.

Yuto: Out of all the characters, you landed at Kindaichi as well!
Chinen: So he’s Kindaichi #2.

Bright Sides
Yuya: Tell us about the members’ bright/shining side.
Yamada: Yuya should explain what he thinks of each person.
Yuya: When we talk about ‘kira kira’ (brightness), there’s Yuto. He has a lot of hobbies right? Camera and others. When he takes pictures of us, he will display a really bright expression.
Yuto: I guess that’s because its something I like to do. For example, Hikaru and his bass. Because we are concentrating, I guess that’s where we are shining.
Hikaru: I guess that happens when we are performing live.
Everyone: I think that applies to everyone.
Yabu: At those times, the guests (basically concert goers/live performances attendees) will be shining brightly (happy).
Hikaru: That was good!
Wrap-Up
Yamada: Is this the end?
Hikaru: So should we share our final thoughts?
Yamada: I’m thankful that there is a lot of different things to do, but I think it’s about how we send across the message that we want to convey.
Yabu: It felt like there’re memories leftover from the 2015 HSJ Summer Tour, so from now it’s about how we bring forth the perception that JUMP is a very good group.
Chinen: I hope everyone shines brightly during this summer.
Daiki: There’s a lot to listen in this album, so if we can transmit the same message in our live performances, that’ll be great.
Keito: Isn’t this the first time we have a discussion like this? We should do this again because it was fun.
Yamada: We really want people to hit the other characters on the dartboard.
Yuto: No darts landed on those areas at all!
Yabu: The staff also wouldn’t have thought that the darts won’t hit those areas.
Daiki: Because there’re 9 of us right?
Yamada: Only 2 of us became Kindaichi and that was it.
Hikaru: Isn’t this a really precious album? It’s true for every album but I think it is specially more precious this time. Even the unit stages are not split 3:3:3, but 2:4:3.
Yabu: Didn’t think it would be decided by just rock, paper and scissors.
Hikaru: Anyway, it feels like good fortune is coming our way, so we would like to ride on it.
Yuya: There are a lot of new songs in this album, the situations that the listeners are in may be different from the feelings that the songs are conveying but I hope that all of you will treasure the feelings you get when listening to the album.
Yabu: We hope that people who watched the PV would buy the album and spread about the good points of the album in their schools. I have confidence that this album would be able to reach everyone.
Yuto: When we first started working the album, I didn’t know what to expect but everyone put in all the skills and abilities that we currently have so we would like to convey this to you. With this album, Jumping Car, that also has our name, JUMP, we would like everyone to get to know our new sides.
(Yuto continued talking about how this is the 4th album, and how they have changed as time goes by).
