To eat: ANYWHERE.
To see: The Vatican, Vatican Museum, the Coloseum.
To shop: I didn't do much shopping in Rome. I never found a shopping plaza where we went. But if you are in Italy, I would suggest going to Capri. They have tons upon tons of shops plus the island is beautiful beyond all recognition.
