[POKEDRESSING CANON] - BRB, TRAINING FOREVER - [PRIVATE TO oceansbane]

Jun 23, 2011 01:48

[After learning the true nature of his world, Archie's been training. His Pokemon team has been altered to include Crobat instead of Crawdaunt, and he's carrying a seventh Pokemon with him: the pink duck. Currently he only has Sharpedo out, and is giving the shark orders.]

Earthquake, again! [Sharpedo doesn't exactly look tired, but he's not quite ( Read more... )

[This beach tends to draw Hoennites to it like some sort of deranged magnet, apparently; clearly, they should just stick a sign in it and be done with it - hopefully something more dignified than "Hoenn was here, Sinnoh's a loser", but if nothing else, well...

As common as it may be for him to frequent this beach, however, Maxie has to admit that the fact that he can sense tremors in the ground as he approaches isn't exactly something he's come to expect. Rather unusual, really; he smirks a bit at it. His double is probably here; training, from the feel of i-

...or...not. What...]

...Archie.

[Well, that's certainly something, isn't it.]

[Oh great, just who he was hoping to avoid. ...By coming to this beach. Okay, that was a dumb idea in retrospect. Oh well, there's really nothing he can do about that now.]

Maxie. [Archie will at least nod in greeting before turning his attention back to Sharpedo. In fact, that's the only thing he says, watching as Sharpedo unleashes a Waterfall attack, then hesitates a moment before using Earthquake again.]

[That shark...

That shark...knows Earthquake...

...right. Right, back to business.]

Training to take down that man with the ridiculous name, are you?

[Archie once again turns his attention to Maxie. He would really rather not be bothered at the moment, but with the way Sharpedo is looking at him, he figures it's time to give the poor Pokemon a break.]

Yeah, I am. I don't wanna lose to a guy like that; hell, he'd probably wipe my memories just for fun. [Archie motions for Sharpedo to return, and soon enough the shark is by his side, looking at Maxie curiously.] I know I'm not the only one who'll be goin' after him, but I don't wanna get shown up by some kids.

[As soon as that Sharpedo has returned to Archie's side, Maxie's attention is no longer on his not!rival; rather, he's focused on the shark, his head cocked slightly to the side. Have that curious look returned, you.]

Well, Earthquake isn't a bad start, I suppose. When did you teach it that?

[Well, since the boss likes this guy, he's probably okay. Sharpedo seems to have finally gotten the memo that attacking people on sight is normally not a good idea.]

...Don't remember. Probably sometime after losin' to Adrian or Carys back home. [Shrug.]

[...back...home...wait]

So it knew that last time we battled, then?

Yeah. Why? [Hello there, Ground-types. We know nothing about you.]

[Obviously!!

Just. Give Maxie a moment. Oh my god what is wrong with you - ]

...you have no idea what you're doing with your own Pokémon, that's why. Do you just teach it things that you think are powerful and then attempt to make it up as you go, or what?

[Archie's surprised by that, he doesn't even really consider it an insult at this point.]

Basically, yeah. Earthquake takes care of Electric-types an' it's powerful. Don't see why I shouldn't use it.

[...oh facepalm]

And how quickly does that Sharpedo go down in battle, usually?

[...You're so mean.]

Uh... pretty quickly...

...it actually has potential to not be completely fucking horrible in battle, you know.

aquaboss June 23 2011, 06:38:09 UTC
...Really?

[Sharpedo will totally just poke him in the leg with a fin because how dare you, boss.]

Oh, sorry, Sharpedo. [He absently pats it before looking back over at Maxie.] So how'd you go about trainin' it?

oceansbane June 23 2011, 06:40:51 UTC
[...okay, that was sort of amusing. Well done, idiot.]

I've never trained water-types; I couldn't tell you exactly what to do to raise the goddamn thing. But even with my amount of experience with this particular species, I could probably take you on with what you have if I was required to.

[...Shut up.]

What d'ya mean by that? [Sharpedo seems to get the idea and he doesn't look very pleased with it.]
