A long weekend..

I worked 3rd shift on friday night. It wasn't that cold and I realize that the hard part of nightshift is getting up and actually doing the work. I didn't have much on my agenda, but its hard to move fast during the late hours. I cleaned registers, swept up dust/dirt, cleaned belts, got all the coupons, dusted customer service office, rung customers, and did carts. That's all, nothing to it ;)...

Saturday after sleeping for awhile, I got up and friends were over almost ready to play dnd. Wasn't ready for a shower, so i played half life 2 for awhile. Then, dnd. Because of all the ice on the road, dnd friends stayed over night. Fine Fine..

The next morning, had breakfast for one of the first times ever haha, then when everyone had left (still no shower time ;( ) we had to leave for justin's orchestra concert. We got there an hour and a half early. That really sucks! So I read my book pretty much the entire time before and during the concert. "Forward the mage" by Eric Flint. Hilarious, complex, and strange book really. Might be similiar to hitch-hiker's guide to galaxy humor, but i only saw the movie. Lot of complex words in the book, but it's really funny. The first book had a lot of physics terminology and one of the characters was this half blind crazy female swordfighter named after a thermal heating principle. Just funny really.

After the concert, we went to get food at olive garden and walk the mall before going to the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Not really an orchestra after seeing it lol. They played christmas music and the first half was pretty much a story. In between songs, there was a guy who would sing/speak a story similiar to most christmas stories about santa claus. He had a nice voice. The show had a ton of light effects too. It was simply amazing. Lighted the whole frickn' place i tell ye. had to close my eyes a few times because my knowledge of staring at the sun told me i could go blind if i stared too long. The holiday music gave me a sense that the orchestra was a rock/christan rock/orchestra band. But not really.

After the holiday music, they gave way to introducing the members, how long they've been an orchestra (9 years i think), and telling some jokes. Then they started playing some real stuff as well as parts of music already in effect. They played some blues jazz first off, then deviated to parts of songs including some led zepplin. After hearing it all, it made me realize that they were really just a death metal band like megadeath. It was really something to see. They used a rising platform too, where 2 of the guitarist ran down the center and got on the platform. all the lighting effects, just sooo cool. Definitely something you would want to see, i don't think it would have gone well on tv, just something you have to be there for.
