[clink of china]

... Oh? Dust?

[rattle of something like a pocket-watch chain]

[mildly amused] Oh my! I do believe that was the longest sip of my life, Fawkes!

[slightly annoyed trill]

Why, thank you, my dear!

Would you be so kind as to tell me what I have missed this past week ...? With the way things happen in this world, I would not be surprised if I had missed something as important as, oh, the invention of self-casting wands! [slight chuckle, as if laughing at an inside joke]

While that would be awesome, I can't say that's the case.

Instead apparently random people are being attacked by even more random people, no one can figure out what's going on, and I'm staying the hell inside unti this crap blows over.

Oh my. Yes, that does seem to be a prudent course of action.

It seems we were rather fortunate to be attacked only by a layer of dust this week, eh Fawkes?

[trill]

Yeah...

I mean, I'd help an' all but I doubt DATS wants some random magic girl college student poking in to their business.

Oh, indeed. Of course, that does not mean that investigation is the only way in which one may help such a cause. Merely being aware of and reporting strange incidents is often enough to bring about some manner of change.

Have you considered, perhaps, an education in magic? The school year at MAGI is just beginning, if I recall, and it may help you to become more than a 'random' magic girl, as you feel yourself to be. It could be, dare I say, an opportunity ...?

True...

No... I mean... after high school it was just... over. There wasn't any need for me to even transform anymore, let alone use my powers...

[gently] But now you are here, where there is a real need for such powers--if not for others than for you and your partner's own defence. One can never predict a need; one can only be prepared.

[pause, and then a slight chuckle] Are you, perhaps, familiar with Alastor Moody's favourite phrase? I suppose it is not inappropriate at this point in time, particularly as you say there are people being attacked without rhyme or reason.

I get that, I just don't even know what I have left in me anymore. As it stands some of my abilities have already been taking away.

Sorry, you'll have to refresh my memory on that.

Then perhaps it is time to find out? I have found that people quite often surprise themselves with what they can do--whether it involves magic or not.

[another chuckle] 'Constant vigilance.' Of course I doubt we need to be quite as vigilant as Alastor tended to advise, but it is still a relevant thought, no?

It's.. a thought...

How do I enroll then? I mean, that's if you know...

Wonderful! There is nothing quite like something new to dedicate one's mind to, eh?

I believe the person to contact would be Ms Katherine Simmons. She may even have already put out word about the year's start, while I was indisposed; I daresay that would have some information. In any case, I would suggest speaking to her.

(( OOC: Figured this post would prolly do as a contact point, if you didn't want to make a whole new post on it. It was only posted a few hours ago in-game, SO. XD ))

Probably better than college... that wasn't working too well for me.

Yeah, I'll uh... I'll give it a try.

Thank you, sir.

Not at all, my dear! I do hope you find some enjoyment in it, at least. I am, of course, at your disposal should you need assistance.
