This sort of response is quickly establishing itself as the standard...

So what now. Did you assist another group of monsters in distress?

Very funny.

I was captured and strapped down to a table by some nutcase.

...

Are you sure? That sounds like something right out of a horror novel. Frankenstein's Monster, I think. There was a list of them when I was doing research on Halloween. Perhaps the recent event implanted false memories into randomly chosen individuals. I heard that last year's event was particularly unpleasant, so...

[No, she doesn't believe it's fake for a moment.]

You think I want a memory like that to be real? If it didn't feel real to me, I'd be denying it.

[So much for that tactic.]

Well of course... No one with even a hint of common sense would want to remember something of that nature.

But there's nothing that can be done about it right now.
You shouldn't let it bother you until you remember something that will give you definite answers... who this person was, what he was doing, where, why... Otherwise you'll drive yourself crazy.

Easier said than done.

You need to cheer up.

[Thanks Ms. Obvious.]

Even if there was something you could do, there's no way you'd succeed if you're preoccupied with feeling sorry for yourself.

Yeah, but it's one thing knowing that and another thing actually doing it.

Then start with what you can do.

Besides, it's not as if you have to suffer on your own. If you're feeling down, go spend time with your friends.

[Sorry, she isn't very good at coming up with ways to cheer people up, but at least she's trying.]

Are you saying that you have free time?

Reply

a_severed_fate November 3 2009, 22:18:05 UTC
[Tear does not remember directly referring to herself or saying anything at all about free time.]

No... that wasn't what I was saying. I was only suggesting that you spend time around other people to distract yourself. Aren't you the one who normally tells me to quit overthinking things?

However, I do have free time.

And I'm asking you if you want to spend time with me.

[Leave it to Luke to word it awkwardly. Tear will not fall for this trick. She will not openly admit to wanting to spend time with anyone.]

I-- I suppose I could spend time with you if you think it will help.

You have assisted me in the past, after all.

Okay, great!

So, uh...what should we do? Got any ideas?

a_severed_fate November 4 2009, 02:24:16 UTC
[We got nothing over here.]

That's a good question...

I don't think you'd find any of my suggestions particularly interesting, and it seems a little late to do anything related to Halloween.

Besides, we're doing this for you. If you get bored, it won't be beneficial at all.

Well, uh...

...Hey, you know how to play chess, right? Why don't we do that?
