Happy Crystal? lol Anyway, yeah, it's been a while, but then again, it almost always has. All kinds of stuff has happened since I last updated, but seeing as I'm lazy and don't feel like typing it all out, maybe I'll just touch on some of the more interesting events of the past few weeks.
Andrew Benfer came here for a concert so I got to go with him and hang out and what not. The drummer dude for one of the bands had a Violent Femmes shirt on , so obviously the music couldn't suck that bad right? Well....it did suck sort of, but mainly because it was a pussy ass emo show so there was no mosh pit. Oh yeah, it's so fun to stand in one spot for three hours while a band plays. There wasn't even any pogoing! Even at Big God people pogoed, so, that was really pathetic. But seeing Andrew made it all worth while, cause Andrew is my bro.
This weekend was pretty cool. During the past two weekends I've gotten back into SSBM. I've learned that Falco and Fox are nearly unbeatable because they are so fast. Shiek, who I used to play a lot as, is also insane because of her speed. I also still play Link, because of the range on his sword, even though he's not very fast. It's not so easy to cheese with him like it is with Falco or Shiek. Instead, you have to try and keep your opponent at long range, and strike at just the right moment, before they are close enough to hit you. My most interesting discovering, however, was in playing as Marth. He's almost like a mix of Link and Shiek. He has more range, almost as much as Link, but also more speed, almost as much as Shiek. This makes him a very dangerous character. The first time I really used him seriously was in a FFA with Andrew and Richard. Richard of course got knocked out first, and Andrew ended up beating me with Fox. However, Richard quit, cause he's a quitter like that, and the next two games I beat Andrew, but he beat me in the last one. The weekend before, I didn't really wanna play, cause I hadn't in a long time, but Andrew kept begging me, so I did. Me and Andrew, one on one, me Link, him Fox. Man, that was a good match. That may be the single best match I've ever had, (possibly excluding some I've had with Lin). I just barely stayed in front of him in kills the whole time, and when I did win, I only had one life left, with about 100% damage. I had to shake his hand on that one, it was a great duel. While Andrew was here in Columbia I played as Link some more. I think he had gotten a lot better with Fox, and definitely had chances to win, but he screwed up a couple of times, and I ended up beating him twice in a row, and then again later, with Link, though in the forth match up he finally defeated me. Him and I also played as Fox and Link against the Greeville duo of my roommate Adam and another Andrew. The first match we played was at Hyrule. Adam went out first, and it ended up where each Andrew and I had one like, and the Greenville Andrew had two(he was Shiek, btw, and damn good with her too). We killed him again, but with his last life, he went to the bottom level (pussy) and managed to sneak out a win since it's hard to kill people in the lower level. Andrew and I of course considered this quite cheap, and challeged them again in a battle on the Great Fox, where you can't hide. This time, we kicked there asses, Andrew and I each ended up with two lives left. They wanted two out of three now, so we obliged them, and though both Adam and the other Andrew did better, we still defeated them, each of us with one life left. Take that, Greenville! hahahahaha! Unfortunately, since we didn't have a memory card here with all the extra characters, I couldn't be Falco, who for some reason, I like a lot better than Fox. I first learned how good Falco was from Simon. He always used to use him, and although I could beat him I noticed Simon was quite awesome with him. So, I tried him out for the first time in a FFA with Andrew, Lin, and Simon(who wasn't Falco this time). I remember Andrew was Link, and Andrew was really awesome with him. He and I would go back and forth in Link v. Link matches all the time. After that match, I never saw Andrew use Link again. I won that match, I realized I had a new character. When Simon and I were both Falco in a FFA, he ended up winning, proving to me that I still needed to practice with him. I haven't won every match with him, but I feel if I work at it, Falco will be my best overall character. I remember Andrew and I did Falco v. Fox games, and he kept wanting a rematch until he finally beat me.
Andrew Fox and Richard came here for the weekend. It was a series of ups and downs though. First off, Codi's bf Everett was supposed to send Lauren's extra parking permit back here so we could use it. We get down to the lockers, and none of us can open the damn thing. We try and try, but to no avail. So Richard decides to use a credit card and jimmies it open, only to find there's nothing friggin in it. So now we're like, we're screwed. We parked at Maxcy, and luckily Andrew's vehicle was never towed, probably because we were there for labor day. We met up with Codi, and went and ate. Marcus came too, and it wasn't long before Richard got to arguing with him. It was partly my fault though. Someone said the word "reiterate," and so I thought, wait a second, if you can reiterate, shouldn't you be able to "iterate" first? Well, Richard and Marcus got to arguing about it, and they're both stubborn bastards, so, it never got resolved. I suggested they fight over it, but they're both lazy so, that didn't work either.
We all (cept for Marcus) went to the movies, and decided to see King Arthur. But we got there early, and we decided to go to BAM. However, considering how Andrew and I had never been to this area of Columbia, we didn't know where it was, although we had remembered seeing it earlier. Codi didn't know either, so, we were gonna drive, but Richard goes, oh no, it'd be stupid to drive, lets walk, I know where it is. Why did we listen to him? We followed him all over the place, across the highway, and then back across again. When we finally did find it, it was closed? grrrrrrr. Then, after the movie, Richard and Andrew get into another one of there big arguments, obviously made big because of Richard, though Andrew doesn't help by provoking him. I tried to calm both of them down. Even though I'm used to it, I knew Codi might freak out over it, and I didn't want her to get a bad impression. Codi got out of it though by talking on her cell, Richard and Andrew shut up because they were mad at each other, and I couldn't think of a damn thing to say while they were like that, so we all enjoyed silence until we got back. Damn, I'm typing way too much, completely contrary to what I said earlier. So, I'm gonna stop now. I'll finish later.
