Apsara, woman, you KILLED me with this. I'm using a phone right now, so I can't highlight which parts in particular which I loved, but let me just say this, that even after having read it three times, it only hurts worse. Seriously. It's so beautifully written, that beginning, oh that poetic beginning where Jun wonders about memory and clarity, and then you go into detail about the little things that happened in the day. I absolutely, positively 100% loved it with all my being.
Then there's Rei's guilt throughout the whole piece, from the moment that poor girl wakes up in the hospital and Jun uses the word 'was' it's just torture for Rei's soul and FOR MINE. You capture her so perfectly - how Rei tries to put the pieces together so that she's sure, how she distances herself from Jun and Mina and her relationship suffers, it's so awfully sad, I was practically bawling.
In a way, I'm kind of glad you stopped there because the angst that would follow the big reveal may well have caused a minor melt down in my brain. She's telling Minako her dark secret and you wonder as a reader if Rei really thinks that Mina had solved it, or whether she just couldn't hold it in any more, or a mix of both. No matter what, things will never be the same. I also wonder if this will drive Mina and Jun closer than they intended after their 'night'. There is SO SO SO much going on here and I can't help thinking and thinking about it.
It was so terribly sad that Mina's jealousy over what Rei had (and you can't blame her) led to the night with Jun, because that's what it was, jealousy: it was unfair that she didn't have her love, but Rei, the big scorner of love and men, gets her soul mate and she looks like she's throwing her relationship away. It's even worse when she finds out the reason she doesn't have the love she deserves is also technically because of Rei. Jebus woman, I'm looking at my heart in my hand because you TORE IT OUT AND RIPPED IT TO SHREDS. AND THEN there's Jun who's basically gone and fucked up his relationship because Rei was pushing him away and they're the kind of people who feel like they burn too quickly and staying together for too long could end in disaster (and as you've shown, they're right).

This was beautiful.
