[The Rowan's voice is tired, and haunted.]

I can hear her. The girl. Jennifer.

She's panicked, traumatized. From living through a war...an old one.

[Jennifer's terror from the bomb shelter is too close to the Rowan's own childhood trauma for her to be objective about it, even though with her blocked memories, she can't quite put her finger on ( Read more... )

[So amused.]

I don't think you'll have much problem with finding alcohol. Incidentally, I do know the bartender.

It's not my first choice, but it does take the edge off.

[If there were shielded quarters here like a civilized society would provide, it wouldn't be an issue.]

You're unlikely to get the sedatives. It's rare that we're allowed anything worth labeling as 'useful'.

[If you counted the number of things about this ship that could fit that qualification, you would find yourself never finished.]

That's beginning to sink in.

[She sighs.]

So I'm told.

[She's amused.]

He likes to show me off, what can I say?

Is a high proof rum to your liking?

...Maybe?

[She's not that experienced a drinker. Hell, in the time period much of the boat's from, she's not even a legal one yet.]

...how much did you manage to get from her?

I've got some alcohol as well. And you can probably get sedatives from the clinic on deck 2, but I'm not sure how easy that would be.

Just what she's projecting. It's not very clear. She's dwelling on her past experiences, and worrying about what she thinks is the present.

[She clicks her tongue about the sedatives.]

If it doesn't qualify as a medical necessity now, it will within a few days.

...I see.

*Which means Phoenix's plan might actually have to be used. wonderful*

The clinic is run by a robot, but I haven't dealt with it much. I don't know how often it gives out medication.

...If anyone approaches her, make sure there's a woman in the group.

[The Rowan doesn't explain herself further.]

A robot? Well, I could go talk to it, I suppose.

Could always knock you on the head.

[What the hell?]

Yes, because head trauma will improve my telepathic ability markedly.

Just saying you could. It's an option.

Do you always make such helpful suggestions, or am I simply lucky?

[The Rowan falls into biting sarcasm quite easily.]

So then... she's not doing it on purpose.

Doest hat mean we'll have to make a new plan with that in mind? we shouldn't hurt her if she doesn't understand what she's doing...

[Text? Well, whoever this is responded to her voice post, so they can at least hear her. She doesn't feel like putting the effort into typing right now.]

I suspect she thinks she's defending herself.

[The Rowan sighs.]

It was never my intention to hurt her if it was possible to avoid it, but she can't be allowed to keep killing.

[No one's mentioned the whole "death doesn't take" aspect of Elegante to her yet.]

[HE THINKS ABOUT THIS. For a very long time.]

Do you think if we can calm her down, or at least get to listen...

[He's just waiting for someone to pounce on him screaming "DON'T" because what is his life here, seriously.]

will she maybe be more comfortable if there's another kid with her?

I honestly don't know. I didn't try to dig into her mind. I just picked up what she was broadcasting. Her thoughts are extremely jumbled. She may not be sane enough to tell the difference between an attacker and someone who's just trying to talk.
