Can anyone hear me?
Yes, Vanyel, I know you can.
[The Rowan's mental voice is clear, steady, and controlled, unlike her wild telepathic shout upon arrival.]
OOC: Anyone with compatible mental abilities should be able to hear the Rowan, under normal circumstances. It's up to you whether they do or if they choose to respond, of course. However,

[Vanyel was not particularly impressed with your temper tantrum, Rowan.]

It's come to my attention that the girl who's the cause of all this is a telepath, and uses that to distract people when she attacks them.

[He unbends a bit- it is important.]
I don't recommend attacking the girl unless you intend to kill her, and you shouldn't do it alone if your Gift is still unsteady.

[Attacking or killing. Talents are a nonviolent bunch, and her disgust at the idea comes through clearly.]
Others are discussing how to capture her. Maybe she can't hit multiple targets--
[The Rowan doesn't sound like she believes that. Being able to split one's attention is a fairly low-Talent ability, and if the girl can project vividly enough to incapacitate someone, she can almost certainly do it to multiple people at once.]
--but it would be better if she weren't able to attack mentally at all.

[Vanyel is not the kind of person who kills needlessly, but he doesn't much hesitate to kill when he feels it's necessary.]
Everyone who's encountered her, unless they've run, has been killed. What's your plan, Rowan?

I can block others' abilities. Any high Talent can if they swing enough power to do it, either from their own strength, or with a merge or machine gestalt.
[Accompanying this is the sensation of the enormous power that comes from leading a mind merge or tapping into a generator to pull power, and it's quite clear the Rowan is not exaggerating how much either expands her capabilities.]
Ordinarily, I could, even with just my own self to draw on. Right now...I'm not so sure.
I think I can manage it for a few minutes, regardless of how badly my Talent is misfiring, and if she's busy fighting me off mentally, that's attention she can't spare to attack anyone else, mentally or physically.

That's not a bad idea. I'll admit, I've never had the opportunity to perform such a skill...How confident are you that you can hold her, given my power added to yours?
[Maybe Remy's as well...he'd have to ask.]

[No one has seen fit to mention to the Rowan that Jennifer ain't exactly corporeal.]
If we're going to merge, I'd want to try it at least once before we have to do anything serious while we're linked. You don't want to find out about ego incompatibilities when you're thrusting.
["Thrusting" has exactly the same mental associations for the Rowan as a physical push does, identified by her thoughts as the sensation of initiating a teleport.
If she's hiding any uncertainty, she's doing it well.]

[There's more ways than simple telepathy, as Van understands it, to speak mind-to-mind, after all. Still...what choice do they have but to try? Vanyel gives his cautious assent.]
But you're right about the test-run.

The Rowan sighs, mentally and physically.]
Attacking a hostile telepath--or whatever she is--isn't something I exactly want to try a dry run on. Besides, we'd lose surprise when we tried it for real.
[She thinks about it a little more.]
I suppose I could ride along in someone else's mind to see how she does it, and then just pop them to safety before she can hurt them, but that's a big risk.

[At last, a little sympathy from Vanyel]

[Usually by accident, back before she realized her own strength.]
It's the uncertainty. If a telepath had tried this back home, I'd have had the backing of every other Talent in range plus my Tower generators to slap them down. There wouldn't have even been a contest.
Here...
[She lets the thought trail off. What the damper is doing to her Talent is like reducing a battle fleet to one elderly cruiser with dodgy engines.]

There's only one way to know. I'll ask that you wait at least an hour or so. I might need some time to recuperate- there's something I have to do.

It'll probably be longer than that before anyone comes to a consensus about how to deal with this.
[She's starting to realize there doesn't seem to be any actual leadership.]
...Yell if you need help.
[While she doesn't much like Van, she doesn't want to see him dead, either.]
