There is no logic when man tries to use the Law to impose their views on another. Logic exists without the necessity of any Law.

Some solace is found if you consider the Law to exist in an attempt to save man from the stupidity that they normally trend towards. The kosher Laws were devised to help avoid foods and methods that were risky from a health sense. Laws of violence against others are pretty obvious. Somewhere, someone came up with the belief that pleasure is a bad thing and then any number of things got covered by the Law.

Never underestimate mans ability to hate that which they do not understand.
