Macintosh question

Anybody have any idea why I suddenly can't seem to watch any videos on my MacBook Pro? When I go to YouTube or any other site with a video, all I see is a black box where the vid should be and no buttons or anything to indicate it's loading or able to play. I have Flash player and recently installed the update and YouTube was working the last time I signed on. Weird. I recently tried to watch a trailer for a movie on Amazon Prime and it too was a black box of nothing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, f-list.

ETA: I tried using Safari and was able to get a video to play there. Then I went into Firefox and looked at the downloads and add-ons to try to figure out if I needed something to help. I downloaded and installed YouTube HD, restarted Firefox and now it's working fine again. So, I suppose the glitch is solved for now.
