R.I.P. Harold Ramis
I hadn't seen the news all day when my son called to tell me that Harold Ramis died today. He was only 69 years old. My son adored him and the comedies he directed, wrote and starred in and I enjoyed his performances and talent quite a lot too. We both loved him in "Ghostbusters" and "Stripes" and my late husband and I loved "Groundhog Day" which he directed. A sad day for comedy indeed.
"Harold Ramis: A Career in Clips" I loved his nerdy seriousness as Egon Spengler in Ghostbusters, a movie my son can quote and that I have watched with him and by myself dozens of times. My favorite line is the one he utters as the Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man ambles down the street toward the end of the film. I had it put on a button to wear at a con years ago. I'm terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought.
