We went to bed at about 10 pm London time last night and for some reason only slept until 3:30 am and then was completely wide awake. It was really weird. Our sense of time is still off I guess.
Left the flat and headed off to the train station to get a 7 day pass and popped into a breakfast joint and decided to try a "Potato Jacket" I am going to have a Potato Jacket party when I get home. They are delish.
Headed over to the V&A to see the Hats exhibit which was really fun and made me wish I had went on with the fashion design degree. Also make me wish I was cool enough to pull off outrageous hats. Ones with feathers. We also looked at some the fashion area and I took photos of the wedding dresses there to show off on the biz blog. Looked over the photography section too. It was small but they had some gems in there including Arbus's shot with the Xmas tree shoved into the corner. Geoff had a run in with a woman who could definitely win the award for Bitchiest person ever born. Like for real she was so nasty to him he was actually laughing because he thought she was joking. I don't think I can fully explain what happened here but he simply asked a question about what was through the V&A library doors and she answered that "there are more books. What, do you think you know this library better than I do?" I was scared of her. After the run in with the devil we decided to get on to the gift shop and head out. (The gift shop is really cool).
Walked up the street to shop & had a very succesful time at H&M and Accessorize. Acc. had some awesome headbands with little mini hats and feathers and all kinds of cool shit that I really wanted to buy, but in the end I decided that I'd be too lame to wear them so I didn't.
We headed into Harrod's food hall (not in the main store) and was lured in to eat the Lebanese food which was going 'round and 'round on the conveyor belt and was a fun eating experience. Later on we rode the Hop on Hop off bus which got me excited for all of the other great stuff we'll be exploring & was pretty informative. Did you know that they still have the building where the Texas Embassy was when it was it's own union (or whatever they were called) only now it's just a restaurant? Yeah, me either. Unforunately, I crashed and fell asleep on the bus but managed to snap out of it and get home.
Tomorrow we take a train to Birmingham where I'll be running a roller derby practice for them. So exciting!
