As for approaching the "hanging" situation--please keep in mind that it's frustrating the heck out ME trying to write April! ;)

April, as presented in the strip, lets things go on for long periods of time, addressing them only in her thoughts. For all we know, if Becky McGuire hadn't overheard April speaking poorly about her to Gerald in September of 2005, Becky and April might still be best of friends, at least in Becky's mind.

We have a similar thing with April and Gerald, with his offences of calling special needs kids retarded, and being insensitive to April after Grandpa Jim had his stroke. April actually says something to Gerald on each of these occasions, but there is no long term effect. It is never mentioned again.

The only reason this one is different is because April has spoken to Liz about it, but I am not so sure the point of that sequence wasn't just for Liz to get the courage to ask Anthony out. If it was still an issue now, you would think Lynn would be concentrating on it with April talking to Eva, instead of this bizarre prayer-cursing thing. However, April may work her way around to talking to Eva about Gerald, which makes a lot of sense when you consider that Eva is supposed to be her best friend.

This is my plan for my characters. If Eva and April talk about Gerald next week, then we are still on for a Gerald / April confrontation. If the action jumps to someone else or Eva and April only talk about prayers and curses, then I am dropping the subject and I am just going to presume April and Gerald are the same as they have always been.

Sounds like a plan. :)
