Currently on break from class, starting back up Monday. It is comforting to think about the fact that we only have til May 2. Very much so possible.
Went to D.C. this past weekend with Tom and Nicole for the CampusProgress Retreat/Conference. It was definitely useful, and made some awesome friends. I get the impression Tobin and Natasha didn't really expect the different student organizations to click so well but by the end of the trip we asked to get EVERYONE's contact info. I think it's awesome how fast we clicked. Not to mention I think it's definitely awesome that at this point, if Chiku or Nick or someone wanted to spend a weekend in DC, they have a place to stay, and if one of us wanted to pop into Boston, or Denver, we have the same. Ashley was definitely the easiest to talk to for me. We had the same taste in music, she loved Amelie, and we simply got excited about the same things. It was definitely really nice. Dorothy was awesome as well.
Tom Nicole and I did a bit of sight seeing, which was really nice. I had never been to DC, and it was nice to finally see everything in person. Sort of got me a bit more excited about my major. Our flight got cancelled due to some issues with the pilot, which were understandable, though it'd be nice if DELTA had a backup plan of sorts. However, they put us up in the Hyatt. Nicole headed to sleep pretty immediately, but Tom and I stayed up and used the televisions mediocre internet to look at lolcats, nomnom.. things, and a few other things out of boredom. I definitely went to my room and stole the iphonedockable radio and blasted music while showering at 2 am, which was pretty alright. Overall, I had a pretty good time. Did alot of thinking in between the various excitement of DC... Hah.
Went for an 11 mile cycle with my sister. It was definitely awesome. We got to catch up, get some advice, talk about the family situation, relationships, work, school, everything. I am always pleased with how open our conversations are, I wonder if other siblings are as open and honest with eachother.
On a kind of stressful and bad note, my grandmother is in the hospital. They thought it was just going to be for a day there, but yesterday my mom had to head down to Ohio, they weren't sure she was going to make it. As of now shes improving.. I have absolutely no idea what is really going on, they generally tell me last, which drives me insane. I had intended to go down to Ohio this summer and spend about 5 weeks just talking with her, getting an entire reaccount of her life; shes the perfect example of nearly all of the 1900's (between her mother and her) Sort of a microhistory study, as well as a way to prove to her that her life had some value, she often talks about feeling like she didn't do anything with her life after WWII. So I don't really know what to say on that one. So imma say nothin. Yeah.
I think I am headed to Ann Arbor.
I have had this song stuck in my head since Friday:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMy6X5cQul8Well that and Paula Abdul. Thanks for that Tom.
Alright, off to shower.
