Lend a hand?

I just read this article about a man from Bay City who had a hand transplant:

http://www.cnn.com/2006/HEALTH/11/30/hand.transplant.ap/index.html?eref=yahoo

While I think it's wonderful for the man who got the transplant (I can only imagine the difficulty of doing even the most mundane tasks with just one hand not to mention the stares you'd get) I also think it must be so well, odd for him.

Think about your hands, and all of the things and people they touch. If I had a hand transplant, I'd always wonder whose hand my hand had held,if it had ever been used to stroke a baby's forehead or if it ever slapped anyone in anger. I'd wonder if it had ever written love letters and what kind of important documents it may have signed.

It would just be interesting wouldn't it? I think it's wonderful that modern medicine can do these kinds of procedures I just would always wonder about the life the hand had come from, wondered about the person it used to belong to. They say that the person's identity is kept anonymous.

Anyway, just random thoughts.

The warm weather of what has been really the nicest November I can remember is fading to cold at the start of December. Just in time for the holidays. : )
