I need to pee.
Big news at the office this week. Our company has just been bought buy Murdoch-owned media giant News Limited, who own 70 per cent of the newspapers in Australia, meaning there will be some pretty big changes coming our way. Some people were freaking me out with rumours that a whole bunch of us might get the flick under the new ownership. The very thought of heading back to my bar job almost brought on the tears. But all in all, it's damn exciting news, we might all be relocated to Surry Hills, which means there'll be no need for me to buy a car since the bus goes right up that neck of the woods. And the potential to move around and really get gritty with journalism (should that be what I come to pursue some day) might be ten-fold. The changes are all pretty speculative at the moment but there's quite a buzz down at FPC these days. Time will tell.
Wrapped in all that excitement I almost forgot my man Billy Joel is heading to town next week. So think of me this coming Wednesday night. I'll be screaming my heart out to all his popular (and obscure) hits. Congratulations are in order to Michelin, who scored herself a job this week at a small but growing record company in Bondi Junction. It's the end of an era for her aswell. Dan and me mum (haha) and I went to see Trust The Man this week, which I liked. Lots of laughs and David Duchovny was particularly agreeable (except for the whole 'cheating on his wife' thing). I have a girlie crush on Maggie Gyllenhal. Every film I see her in, I can't help but fall for her character. She has a certain charm and I think a large part of it might be her voice.

I am going to have a quiet one tonight. Dan's at work. Laura's at work. Michelle always has plans. Getting a day job has proven very isolating. Even Mum's going out to the movies with a friend. I'll end with a sad quote I read today.
