Coz if they didn't, man there would have been problems. I have a lovely new desk and a 23-inch Apple monitor. Not that I care too much for Apple but bigger is better! I met most of the employees I'll be in contact with, although I remember zero of their names. Actually, I do remember the lady named Michelle, firstly because she has the same name as Michelle and secondly because she was the first person I met who really looked me in the eyes and welcomed me with every fibre of her being.
Basically, I'll be working with two other copywriters who are quite possibly the loveliest girls to exist. One is Emma Carmichael, who is so beautiful I get nervous around her. It's not just that she's physically pretty but she seems to be pretty from the inside out. And that's rare. And the other is Shannon, who after mentioning that I too, am into and have been involved in archery, completely warmed to me in a way that I hope will stick. There is a massive cafe/food court next door with loads of goodies (even though I plan on having jaffels for lunch for as long as I am employed there).
I worked on 3 things. I'll be sub-editing tons of copy and proofing advertorials and writing promotional material. There are inspirational quotes, printed and stuck up by various members of staff on their noticeboard. My favourite read "Starting now, from this very moment, give everyone you come across your full attention, energy and (something else), your life will never be the same again". Or something along the lines. It really stumped me and I thought to myself "That's just what I'll do".
Ray LaMontagne has released a new album and I think I will have to buy it for myself. Seeing as though I haven't purchased a CD since Christmas. I love the coarseness of his voice. It's so appealing. I've listened to his debut album enough times to sing any song word-for-word on request.
