After 5 months of layaway payments, my Soom Sard arrived Nov. 18. Unfortunately, I've been under a few free-lance deadlines, so I haven't had time to fix him up... And he does require more tinkering than I thought, since I had him painted and blushed by Soom in order to keep the tinkering at a minimum.
Anyway--took a few quick pictures, even though he isn't ready...
...For one thing--no clothes. I need to sew something! Aaaagh--so not good at sewing, but I'll bite the bullet. I need to sand a few seams while trying not to spoil his body blushing. Need to re-spray sanded parts and spray hooves, since they're prone to chipping of paint... am thinking I'll try using kips to aid in keeping paint-chipping at joints to minimum (may not work, but what the heck). Need to string hooves on... And figure out what kind of look he should have.
I was wanting him in dark wigs, but his faceup looks better in silver. I do have a black wig I'll probably put on him sometime. And a red one that I haven't used so far, but have had for years... But dark wigs do seem to be a bit too heavy for his thin, light eyebrows...
I tried to see if I oould move his horns a bit farther forward than the head-cap wells that the magnets are supposed to be seated in. I think I do like 'em forward a bit more, but will have to see if it'll work like this in the long term.
Those inexpensive Dollmore eyes seem to glow...
He's temporarily in a Moggy's collar, but I'm getting some Brighnasa jewelry for him...
His sculpt is pretty good seeming to have different expressions, depending on the angle. And I love his torso-sculpt. (Arms could be a bit more built-up, though.)
Hopefully I'll find some time to put him all together and get him an outfit and do a better photoshoot soon... but I couldn't resist taking a few 'out-of-the-box' type pictures.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all those who are celebrating the holiday! ^___^
