The city was ugly. It was the first thought that came to the thirteen year old boy. So very depressing, and it smelled bad, oily and filthy. He felt his stomach turn, but it wasn't long since he had already emptied his stomach of its content, and he didn't feel like doing so again. He set his jaw stubbornly and started to walk.
What else could he do?
He should have been dead. Why he wasn't (unless he really was and this was some sort of trippy afterlife) and why he had literally gone down a Rabbit Hole - what was this, Alice in Wonderland? - he had no idea. But that didn't bother him as much as the fact that he couldn't remember his own name, even if he tried.
"Dung... If you have something to do with this, I swear..."
A sudden sound made the bespectacled boy stop in his tracks and look around. Was there someone there...?
