Deadwood Downs : Cannon : Winter, Year Two

Mar 16, 2012 01:11

In which the youngest member of the Cannon-Sawyer family starts out on her own.

Somewhere during the time I was playing the household, I downloaded curiousb's lovely default-replacement terrains. So ~green~!

Mary moves into 209 Romero Drive, next door the the Radeker family. I built the house and, considering that, I'm actually pleased with it. The layout isn't perfect, but it's functioned so far, and I based it on an actual house plan so it doesn't look too weird on the outside, either.

The ground floor is all one open space, including living room, dining room, and kitchen.

Upstairs has the master bedroom and the bathroom, which I didn't photograph because it is strangely-shaped. It is very pink, though.
There is also a functional basement, but Mary didn't have the money to finish it yet. That's okay; she has enough space in the rest of the house for now.

First order of business is to invite over Mary's love interest, Alicia Davison. She was the hobby instructor for Film & Literature, and I had a moment of panic where I thought that they were not able to be added to a family. Turns out she and Mary weren't quite close enough to move in together, though.

They remedied that pretty quickly.

Alicia got a bit of a make-over to better match Mary's turn-ons (blonde hair & full-face makeup). I'm not sure why, exactly, but I went for a sort of punk-rock Marilyn Monroe thing for her...maybe because of the Film Hobby interest. I think she's quite cute, though. :3
For the record, she's Popularity, LTW = Become Celebrity Chef (possible now that there's a restaurant in town)
5/8/6/3/3
+ makeup / black hair
- glasses

Somehow Mary's LTW changed. Maybe I had written it down wrong, but I swear it had been to Graduate 3 Children from College.
Not complaining, though, since this one's actually possible, considering we're nowhere near establishing a university with public funds, and no one is rich enough to donate one.

They're cute :3

Why the worryface, bb?

Way to gossip about your girlfriend's dad. Whom you have never met. >.>

Apparently the stairwall-opening object I used counts as a window, which means that Sims may autonomously wash the walls.

Mary and Alicia head to Bayside Tavern for a date, and Mary is obviously quite proud of having such a lovely lady.

Surprise engagement animations...

...are the cutest thing.

:3
Alicia accepted, of course.

I had no idea this could happen!

The next day (hey, it's Sims...time passes differently) they got married...inside their cramped house because the wedding arch I plunked in the back yard still gave the "Joined" option even though I have the Marriage for All hack, and I wasn't sure if using it would mess something up.

Mac seems to be having the same reaction my nephew did when he found out I was attending a same-sex wedding with two brides: "That's hot."
My amusement kept me from being annoyed with him for ruining the cute wedding picture. :P

Plus they gave me plenty of opportunities.

I didn't get a picture of it in action, but Crush-heart noises alerted me to this a few seconds before the end of the wedding party -- Fred Cannon flirting with his son Jay's date. Really classy, Fred. I know you miss your wife, but...seriously?

The next morning, Alicia pops (and looks quite rightly alarmed at the fact that her top has no pregnancy mesh :P)
This makes her and Mary the first couple in Deadwood Downs to wait until they were married to at least give birth to their first child...although only because it took a while for one of them to get pregnant, certainly not due to lack of ACRing all over the damn place (they've got 3 bolts)

That's much better. Alicia's studying up for the job she took in the Culinary track, since she has no skills and plenty of time off with the pregnancy to prepare.

Because it was winter, they kept rolling wants to Give Gifts to each other, so I let them pass around crap in their inventories. I think that's probably one of the mid-range bars I bought to keep Mary happy, but didn't have room for in the house.

In the morning just before the seasons changed over, Alicia popped again, which means that the baby will be coming early in the next round of playing their house. I'm quite excited to see how it will turn out.

Next up, the Lowell-Mills household. I've played through, but not edited the pictures, so it shouldn't be long....but, who knows. Spring break is almost over, ughhh :C
