(no subject)
Sore throat, flooded kitchen and a mound of German translation. Not cool!
This might prove once and for all that I'm mad, but I'm seriously considering applying to Newnham College, which is women only. By this I mean it's what I've almost definitely decided to do. I just love the idea of a college with an all-female fellowship, loads of postgrads and college houses on site with cats. It's beautiful too, and right across the road from the Music faculty. I could always switch college after the MPhil, which seems to be what a lot of people do.
I'm pleased with how my German is coming on, considering I haven't done much for a while/ever. I'm still looking up a lot of the words, but not nearly so many as before, and sentence structures are starting to make some kind of sense. Good thing really, as about 1/3 of my current dissertation bibliography is in German.
I wish I could go back to sleep. I had 10 hours sleep last night, and I'm still really tired. Even more tempting now I have the heating on!
