Hi, I'm Aimee. I'm a sophomore, going to school in Florida at the moment. I spent some time going to school at Warren Wilson in Asheville, but it's painfully expensive and I'm looking at going to a school with a wider range of classes, more resources, a fun environment, and cheaper tuition. I've got North Carolina residency so the tuition is definitely cheaper, and from what I hear, App State meets the other requirements too. Plus I seem to remember the campus being absolutely gorgeous. So I'm considering the possibility of transferring to ASU in fall of 2007 as a junior, and looking for some advice about the school.

Does anyone know much about the Social Work program there? I'm a SWK major with a History minor, and would really love to know more about either of those departments if anyone has any experience with them.

How hard is it to find a decent apartment in Boone? I've visited the campus before, but I know next to nothing about Boone itself. I'd be living off campus, so finding an apartment that's not crap and that's a reasonable distance from the school would be a definite plus.

Also--What's the social life like there? What's there to do for fun? You don't get much of a feel for that stuff from the official school website. I'm visiting this summer, but I doubt I'll have much of a chance to see what it's really like.

Thanks for answering what questions you can.
