I'm in a US grad school now, but here are my tidbits about your major points of concern ( ... )

Thank you for the very detailed response! I appreciate it tons ^__^
I'll make sure to follow your advice!
I hope I'll have an easy time like you did! It seems that the LSAT is either really easy or incredibly difficult for people.

(I really should stop abusing exclamation marks!!!)

Yeah a lot of people get intimidated by it, but it's just like any other standardized test. Lots of patterns, easy to decode. You'll be fine ;)

I'm not sure what you meant by major GPA, aside from a terrible econ mark from first year and a couple of awful marks in French, everything else is solid. I'm willing to re-take econ if it means increasing my chances because I know that IR can be econ intensive. Sigh, if I could turn back time!

In the US, major GPA would be calculated from the classes you took solely for your major concentration. My major was English, so any classes like calculus, expository writing, Chinese calligraphy, etc, did not count towards that calculation.

If by awful you mean C+, I think you'll be okay. But if you had a D or bellow, you might want to consider retaking the class or its equivalent. If one of the classes you bombed was a prerequisite for your intended program, or like you say econ is very important there, I would definitely retake that. If you did okay in econ, don't waste your money by retaking it.

You can explain those bad marks, if need be, in your personal statement. And it's usually forgiven if you retook the class anyway. If they're in only one or two classes, though, I wouldn't bother.

For the first half of the econ class, I got a B- and the second half I got a C. Reading your advice, I think it may be a better move for me to re-take those courses because there were several econ courses listed in the program requirements >_<

Time for me to buckle down! I think I will take it next summer, maybe? Hopefully it won't interfere with my LSAT preparation! Thanks again! 。◕‿◕。
