Are acceptance letters generally accompanied by funding offers (assuming the latter is offered, of course)? Do the funding offers come later sometimes? Or, is it something that varies from school to school?

Sorry for the potentially-ignorant question.

They often come separately. Almost all of mine did.

Sometimes the acceptance letter will mention the possibility of funding, or even mention that funding is "likely" or something of that nature. Sometimes you'll get a more personal note from the DGS or admin that a funding letter is on the way. Sometimes it will just show up. One of my funding offers actually beat the admissions offer by one day. :)

It varies. I had some acceptances that included all the details about funding while with others, the funding was mentioned separately later (in one case, I even had a professor email me about the funding).

For my master's the funding offer came with the acceptance. For my PhD, the acceptances came before the funding.

Totally depends on the program/department, I'm afraid.

I actually didn't get the official funding letter from the university until after I had accepted -- though I had the information about funding from the DGS before that.
