Hi guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster with some questions regarding admissions to grad school in France. I know this community is mainly for US/Canadian grad school admissions, but everyone here seems quite knowledgeable so maybe someone can help me.

Specifically I'm applying to a double degree Master's in Environmental Science/Policy at Sciences Po and University of Paris VI. I'm also looking at other programs in France in the environmental field so general advice is welcome.
I would like, ultimately, to work and live there as well. Should I mention this on the application?
I have a degree in Chemistry (BS from University of California Santa Cruz). I graduated in 2006 and since 2007 I've been working in the environmental field, first as a lab technician, and now as an inspector.
I know I have to take the DALF and/or the TCF and I'm planning on taking both. My biggest concerns now are my lack of undergrad research and publications. My only trump card is my professional experience, which thankfully is applicable to my chosen field.
Also what about volunteering and community service? I haven't really done that either...
I also have to get LORs from professors whom I haven't seen for five years. I've been thinking of taking some UCLA extension courses and getting LORs that way. Any thoughts?
My UCSC GPA is 3.74 but I was only there for five quarters as I was a junior transfer. My community college GPA is something like 2.8 (I worked and also somehow community college was harder than a UC. Go figure.) How do I explain something like this? Also how do I calculate total GPA if my comm. college GPA was in semesters and UCSC GPA was in quarters?
Any thoughts in general? Any advice? Mainly I'm just scared that I'll spend all this time and money and won't get in anywhere. I know a truly committed grad student wouldn't be concerned with that but still, I'm quite anxious.
Thanks in advance.
