Hi there,
I've been working on my SOP for a couple of days now, and have been reading mixed reviews on whether or not to use personal anecdotes for my statement. I'm applying to a PsyD program, and majored in marketing as an undergrad.
My SOP for one school included a personal story about how my sister had dysthymic disorder. I read somewhere that the adcom may not want to know about this or that it's too personal.
What do you guys think? I've read some SOP that are pretty personal, and I think it's not a bad idea to show them where you're coming from.
Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!
