GRE Verbal Scores

Nov 02, 2010 14:37

All right, I know these posts are so frequent that they're basically spam, but I'm really wigging out about this.

I'm an undergraduate English major applying for both MA and PhD programs in English Literature. I'm not applying to top-tier schools, but nevertheless many of the schools on my list have high-ranked English programs.

I took the GREs over the weekend and scored a 550 in the verbal section. I wanted to CRY. So basically my question is this: do I have significant cause for FREAKING OUT if my writing sample, SOP, LORs, and CV are strong?

I am planning to take the test again, but the problem is the dates in my area are full until the end of November. Is that enough time to have scores sent for January 1st deadlines?
