does anyone here know if it is common for canadian universities to offer funding (even if it's just the bare minimum to live on) to american students through ta-ships, ra-ships, etc?
i'm looking for potential researchers that i would like to work with for my phd and i've found that 80% of them are in canada. i'm in the biological sciences (behavioral ecology). in the states, it seems to be pretty common to have funding through teaching or lab gruntwork (and research funded through various grants). i would imagine that it's similar at universities in canada, but i'm worried about not being offered *enough* to live on - i'm not talking living luxuriously of course, just enough to be able to feed myself and my dog, pay rent and bills, etc.
thanks in advance!
