Poor GPA. What Do I Do?

Jun 25, 2010 12:01

I really want to go to grad school for Library Science. But my undergrad GPA is less than desirable: 2.63. And of course all grad schools require a 3.0 GPA or better. So what can I do to make myself look better to grad schools?

One option that I have been told is to work in libraries until I am ready to apply so I can have library experience that they can look at.

Option two is to do non-matriculated coursework within my intended program. Meaning I'm taking the classes and paying for the classes out of my own pocket but I am not actually enrolled in the program.

Last option is to either take a few classes to show I get can good grades or get another Bachelors or Associates. And if getting another Bachelors or Associates is the option I go, what degree should I get? English would immediently seem the best route, but I want to be a Children's Librarian, so what about an Early Childhood Development degree?

What do you guys think the best option is? Any advice is appreciated!
