I think I made a mistake on my application!

On many of the online app's I filled out, it asks you to say "how long" you've known the professors who are writing your LOR's. So for this 1 specific professor, I put that I've known her for 4 years ( Read more... )

I wouldn't worry about it. People usually have different ways of calculating these things. Sometimes people count from when you first met or sometimes from when you really became close. Some people count these things inclusively, some people don't. It's not a math question, there is no single right answer.

I'm sure that someone reading your application would be aware of this. Especially since you're going to be more aware of your professor than your professor is of you, just due to the nature of the relationship.

Seconded. If a program really wants you, I doubt they're going to throw out your application on such a small technicality. If anything, they might contact you to clarify, but I doubt even that.

I don't think it really matters. Maybe someone will notice/care, but not enough to be like, "we're going to reject few_flowers over this".

You could e-mail the programs and explain that you misunderstood the question slightly, but it probably is not a big deal. Don't worry too much about it.

they won't care because they will think u or the prof made a mistake and wont know which one!
