Does anyone have a good sample of a letter of intent? I have looked for some sort of template, but I am not finding much, and I'm not sure what should be included.
Best bet is to go by what they want you to write in it, or search the community. I was advised at looking at templates as it takes away from your voice and originality. I just wrote what I thought communicated what I wanted to do the best way and then had people edit it. I suggest the same. =)
Is this for a grant application? I've never written a personal one, but as a professional grant writer, I can tell you that they are normally short letters (about two pages) that state clearly, succinctly and persuasively why you should receive a grant. you include the need for funding, what exactly you will do with it, and what the anticipated impact will be.
in the academic world, a letter of intent might be something completely different, so i could be way off, but if this is in relation to funding, it's likely quite similar to the format i am familiar with.
