I'm sorry if this comes across as too entirely noobish, but I'm feeling rather overwhelmed.
I'm trying to find programs in Art History, specifically Russian Art History. I have a lot to comb through, and so far google isn't being very kind, nor is my local library. My former college is a decent resource, there's at least one professor there whose specialty is in Russian and Ukrainian art. I emailed her, but I don't know what to expect.
Otherwise, I'm finding I really have no bloody clue where to begin. Speak to me like I'm a five year old >.< How do I find Russian art history professors? And how do I even begin this process? I know I need to start getting my application materials together, start bolstering my knowledge base, get transcripts, take the GRE, and so on... Maybe I'm just overwhelming and freaking myself out, here... because as I see it, for myself, step 1 is to get my school holds removed so I can access transcripts. Then look for holes to plug up (e.g. learn a good amount of Russian), find schools and programs I'm interested in, start looking into research by professors I can dig up, get my LORs and SOP and other such acronyms in place...
Mmmyeah. Definitely overthinking and getting overwhelmed. Are there some good guides I could, say, order from Amazon, so I can get some idea of what I should be doing, when, and how to even find schools with decent Russian Art History programs in the first place?
