Hi there!
I'm applying to several programs for Art History / Curatorial Studies for Fall of 2010. And I have so many questions, and no one in the immediate vicinity has been able to help me out. And I looked in the history, but wasn't immediately satisfied with what I found, so I apologize if this gets asked over and over.
1. How many schools is too many schools? I started with a list of 4, which grew to 10, which shrank to... I think the final number is 6. I don't have a first choice school because I would be over the moon if any of them accepted me.
2. Visiting - I am visiting three of the schools in October (I just happened to have plane tickets booked to New York already). I have set up meetings with professors in my particular area of study (minimalism and conceptualism ) for when I go see the schools. Now I'm not sure what to ask about. Should I just bring up what they are teaching or what they have written, show that I am aware of their work, and hope that it goes from there? Take a list of questions? I haven't been able to think of questions, mostly just "HEY! We like the same stuff!! YOU SHOULD TOTALLY LOVE ME." which I don't think will be very useful.
Thanks!
