Hi,

I'm wondering how difficult it would be to switch over to this field to get an MA, or if perhaps I need work/internship experience first. Or, I tried to apply for a Fulbright Assistantship to Eastern Europe last year, but I found out about it a bit too late. I could try to do that next year (I hear Eastern Europe isn't as difficult to get).

I just graduated with a BA in English Literature (with a distinctly media focus, very interested in propaganda and new media), minors in Psychology and Russian/Eastern European Studies. I've got four semesters of Russian and I studied French in Paris, although it's pretty rusty. I just wonder if my background will be a liability or a benefit (it'd be wonderful to study IR stuff as it relates to media).

Some stats:
My GPA is a 3.7
I completed an Honors Thesis
Haven't taken the GRE yet
Phi Beta Kappa
I've done a lot of Alternative Break Corps stuff, if that makes any difference. Sorta helped me realize I'm into non-profits/human rights etc.
Lots of research experience, including paid research assistantship, although granted, in my field.
I've done an editing internship at a small publisher.

Thanks in advance!
