Personal Challenge Essay
Hey everyone-
I looked through the tags and couldn't find anything relating to either type of program I'm applying for (Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders).
I'm actually wondering if anyone has had to write a "personal challenge" essay? I'm trying to 1. figure out what they might be looking for and 2. some experience that actually fits.
Their prompt is:
"Write a 250-350 word essay explaining a personal challenge and how it was handled or a project initiated and maintained independent of parental or school assistance."
I'm leaning more towards the first option but I can't figure out what to do, exactly. Are there topics that would be too trite or common (such as the transition from college to the professional working world?) I'm assuming they also don't want to hear about any real personal ISSUES or emotions or that sort of thing.
Any ideas/help? Certainly not asking for anyone to write this for me, just seeing if anyone's had a similar essay to write or how I could go about thinking of some ideas.
