500 word sop...?
During my research into schools I found myself excitedly writing pages of notes on why the Northwestern English Phd (with Interdisciplinary Cluster of Critical Studies in Theatre and Performance) would be a perfect match for me. It is now one of my top choices. I was disappointed, therefore, to find that they only require a 400-500 word Statement of Purpose. All of my other choices suggest at least two pages. Does anyone have any experience of this Institution/Department or suggestions on what I should focus on/prioritise in the statement, bearing in mind I want to explain why I would be a good fit for both the English Department and the Interdisciplinary aspect?...
