Okay, I'm known for over planning things, which is why I'm posting this now.
I'm a Junior in college studying for my BA in Psychology, minor in Justice.
I have a 3.76 GPA. I am a peer mentor, member of different groups & societies, etc. I plan on doing a senior thesis, but might skip Field Education (due to a horrid Field Ed coordinator). I work P/T in the Social Work department and will likely hard glowing letters of recommendations. Enough about me...
My question is all about the GREs and skipping straight to PhD.
1. What exactly are the GREs like??? I didn't have to take the SATs and I am nervous.
2. How soon should I look at taking the GREs? I only have 11 classes left after Fall, but I'm going to stretch it out until Spring 2010.
3. How hard is it to skip directly to the PhD?
4. Anything else I should know about the GREs or trying to skip ahead straight to a PhD?
5. What else should I be doing to boost my chances of getting into a PhD program?
ETA: Since it's a topic that has been coming up, my emphasis will be in Experimental Forensic Psychology. I plan on doing my senior thesis regarding on Predicting Recidivism in Internet Sexual Predators-an area I already have experience in.
