So I got 4 rejections, and 1 acceptance so far, which is great because that one school is one school of my top choices. I don't really have a linear ranking for these schools. I've simply had 4 tiers in my mind, and this one that accepted me was one of the 3 schools in that top "most desired" tier. Of the schools who still need to reply, only one is also in that top tier, the rest are lower. So basically I am just waiting for that one school to answer and make my choice from there.
I've been invited to visit the school that's already accepted me. I'm just posting to see if any of you can give me advise on what to expect, and say. This is a history department I am talking about. So any thing you guys care to advise/warn me about? I'm lucky in that I am fully self-funded, so I don't have any questions about money or financial aid to ask them. Also, when I show up, should I dress casual or business? Any do's or don't do's? In preparation I've read and re-read several works by the guy who will be my faculty adviser if I go there, who is generally recognized as one top American scholar in the sub-field I want to study. I'd especially like to heard from others who have already gone through this in a history department. I need some intel from you guys before I go into battle. :D
Thanks
