Phone Interviews?

Yet another random question. I received an email from one professor at a school I applied to. She wants to discuss my application further. Do you think this is as formal as a phone interview or not? Also, I never knew that History programs conducted phone interviews. Has anyone gone through one? If so, what did they ask you and how did it go?
